The Los Angeles Angels made a flurry of moves on Saturday. The club reinstated infielder Nolan Schanuel from the IL, placed outfielder Jorge Soler (oblique) on the IL (retroactive to June 4), selected the contract of outfielder Gustavo Campero and placed him on the 10-day IL and designated catcher Omar Martinez for assignment.

Schanuel, a 2023 first-round pick, has been deployed as the Angels' everyday first baseman over the past three seasons. For his career, he owns a .259/.348/.373 batting line. This season, the 24-year-old has four home runs, 24 RBIs and a .313 on-base percentage across 49 games.

Soler is dealing with a left oblique strain. The former All-Star has recorded nine home runs, 33 RBIs and .220/.300/.402 batting line in 58 games this season. Without him, manager Kurt Suzukki is rotating various players in the designated hitter spot; infielder Nick Madrigal got the start at DH on Saturday.

Campero will not see immediate MLB action, as he quickly moves to the IL.

Meanwhile, Martinez provided depth for the organization at catcher with Travis d'Arnaud on the 60-day IL. Martinez went 1-for-3 in his limited time with the team.
