Los Angeles Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz went on the injured list with right elbow inflammation Sunday, one day after giving up seven runs in the first inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In a corresponding move, left-hander Sam Aldegheri was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Kochanowicz, 25, dropped to 2-5 with a 6.05 ERA on the season after Saturday's struggles. He opened the season 2-0 with a 3.09 ERA through six starts but has delivered a 9.62 ERA in seven starts since the start of May.
In three seasons with the Angels, Kochanowicz is 7-22 with 5.84 ERA over 47 starts.
Aldegheri, 24, is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA in three appearances (one start) with the Angels this season. In parts of three seasons, the first major league pitcher to be born and raised in Italy is 2-4 with a 5.26 ERA over 10 appearances (six starts).
A member of Italy's team in the World Baseball Classic this spring, Aldegheri was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts during the tournament.
